The 2009 Lady Bulldogs are looking forward to the season that lies ahead. Barton is returning a more experienced team with senior Liz Strange being the only key loss from the '08 squad. Head coach Patrick Morgan said of Strange, "Liz had a tremendous season. The hole she leaves will be difficult to replace with just one person. We will be looking for several team members to step up."
Stacy Way, the lone senior for the 2009 season, along with juniors Meagan Parrott and Mel Ritter will anchor a team which came together down the stretch in 2008. Other key returners include juniors Cassie Blackmon, Macon Harmon, and Kristen Peschock. "I am very happy with the work that this group has put in toward the end of last season and through this spring!" said Morgan of his returners.
Joining the core of players already in place will be several talented newcomers including junior transfer Chancey Sebranek as well as incoming freshmen Kati Wood and Meredith Watkins to name three.
"I am looking forward to having an exciting season in 2009. We finished strong at the end of last season and I have been looking forward to this year since last November." said Morgan, "We are bringing great talent to go with the fantastic group we have returning. Once we get time to come together as a team and define some roles... we'll see what happens."
