Barton women's soccer coach Ike Onyeador resigns
December 14, 2011
WILSON, N.C.-Barton College has announced that Ike Onyeador has resigned his position as Head Women’s Soccer Coach, effective immediately on December 13.
“Coach Onyeador became our interim coach for the women’s soccer team under very challenging circumstances one match into our 2010 season. He worked very hard in coaching our team for the reminder of that season and then after having the interim tag deleted for the 2011 season. We greatly appreciate his efforts and wish him the best in future endeavors,” stated Gary W. Hall, Director of Athletics. “We are considering the response to be taken relative to our short-term and long-term needs for leadership of this team. For the moment assistant coach Marissa Macri, myself, and others at the College are making ourselves available for matters related to the team.”
Onyeador had a 2-12 overall record as interim coach in 2010 before leading the Lady Bulldogs to a 3-12-1 ledger in his only full season as head coach in 2011. Onyeador departs his alma mater with a 5-24-1 overall record and a 3-18-1 mark in Conference Carolinas play.
